PUBLIC WORKS AND WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR – Town of Lashburn
The Town of Lashburn, located near Lloydminster, SK, is a family friendly employer seeking a public works staff member to assist with infrastructure management and maintenance.
The successful applicant will have a great work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good public relations are essential.
Certification in Water and Wastewater Level 1 would be an asset OR must be willing to work towards certification. Applicant must have Grade 12 or equivalent. Applicants will be required to provide a clear Criminal Record check.
Working as part of a team, the successful candidate will follow the Town's Occupation, Health, and Safety program to deliver high-quality public services and contribute to the maintenance of public infrastructure, machinery and other assets.
Duties include:
• provide maintenance on all equipment;
• operate a grader, skid steer, and other heavy-duty equipment;
• maintain and operate water treatment plant, lift station and lagoon;
• Assist with water service line breaks as part of a team;
• snow removal and green space maintenance;
• Participate in a rotating schedule to perform after-hours standby and callout duties.
• practice safe work habits and adhere to OHS regulations.
• assist with general duties that have been delegated;
Qualified Candidate will have experience operating and maintaining heavy machinery, including motor graders, heavy trucks, and skid steers, and a valid class 5 Driver's license, driver's abstract, a criminal record check, and on-call weekend availability (rotating).
In addition, they can lift heavy objects and walk and stand for long periods and posses workplace safety/safe lifting/handling procedures, and first aid/CPR-C knowledge.
Salary is negotiable and will correspond to experience and abilities.
